for your perfect outfit
how I work
You may know exactly what you want
but some garments just evolve. We can
discuss what you want, think about
styles and look at or order samples of
fabric.
I have a number of paper patterns but
tend to put styles together to fit your
shape. I like mothers of brides to have
an outfit that they feel comfortable in
and can wear after the big day. Party
dresses need to be dance proof and
brides need to feel amazing!
At first measurements will be taken
over your clothing as I usually make a
toille - a cotton version of the garment.
This acts as the pattern for fitting and
to order the right amount of fabric.
After a couple of fittings your outfit will
be ready.
These photos show some unusual gold
brocade fabric which had a floral design
on one side and was cream with gold
butterflies on the reverse. I made a
dress and jacket, for a mother of the
bride, which was edged with reverse
piping to make full use of the pattern.
